Phil Holmes

Phil Holmes is an experienced performer, worship pastor, arts administrator, leadership coach, and voice instructor who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others. Currently, Phil serves as a voice instructor at Grace Christian University (GCU) where he has been since 2012. Before teaching at GCU, Holmes taught on the voice faculty of Cornerstone University for 12 years. He holds a M.M. in Vocal Performance from the University of South Carolina (full-scholarship recipient) and a M.A. in Arts Administration from the University of Michigan (arts administration scholar). In addition to teaching classical voice, Phil also specializes in working with contemporary vocal artists and has significant training in Somatic Voicework – The LoVetri MethodTM from Shenandoah University as well as Teacher Training Certification from New York Vocal CoachingTM, New York, N.Y. Phil enjoys living on Holland’s north side with his wife Melody and their busy golden retriever, Oscar.
