Scott Vanden Berg, Founder & Artistic Director

Scott Vanden Berg has dedicated his professional life to engaging musicians of all ages in passionate music-making and to cultivating a vibrant arts community through schools, churches, and community ensembles. He believes that creating musical beauty is a gift from God, that it can bring people together in meaningful community, and that music can lead us to a deeper understanding of God, our neighbors, and ourselves.

Scott is a dynamic, highly skilled director recognized for excellence in musical leadership. With 25 years in music education, Scott has been the director of instrumental music at Holland Christian High School since 2006. In 2014, Scott was awarded the John P. Varineau Outstanding Music Educator Award by the Grand Rapids Symphony. His orchestra and band have both been chosen to perform at the Michigan Music Conference.

A native of Iowa, Scott earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Dordt College and a Master of Music degree in conducting from California State University, Long Beach. 

In addition to his work in education, Scott is the Music Director of the Calvin Community Symphony, the Holland American Legion Band, the 14th Street Christian Reformed Church choir and orchestra. Scott enjoys serving as a guest conductor and clinician for schools and music festivals around the country.

Scott lives in Holland, Mich., with his wife, Susan, and their three children, Ella, Abram, and Charlotte. 


Kristin Goodyke, Executive Director

Kristin, a Holland, MI native, is well-known in the West Michigan area for being a solo and collaborative musician in the areas of vocal and keyboard music. Kristin graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Music Education from Hope College with an organ emphasis in May of 2014. Kristin received several academic and music scholarships that gave her the opportunity to study organ with Dr. Huw Lewis, voice with Dr. Brad Richmond, and piano with Dr. Andrew Le.

Kristin accompanies many choirs at local school districts, directs the West Michigan Children’s Choir, and serves as the Operations Coordinator and Co-Director of Music at Second Reformed Church in Zeeland. In whatever spare time might be found, she enjoys cooking, going to the beach in all seasons, and traveling with her husband Aaron.
